International Affairs

The National School of Judiciary is working actively with respective educational institutions in the member states of the European Union and the Council of Europe, thereby strengthening judicial cooperation and communication with these countries. It is a member of the Working Group 1 of the European Judicial Training Network and takes part in its meetings on a regular basis, exchanges information on judicial training with respective bodies and on issues of international importance. It receives study visits from foreign judicial officers and students of European judges’ schools as part of the exchange programmes between the countries participating in the Network. It collaborates in training programmes with the Academy of European Law (ERA), the European Network for the exchange of information between persons and entities responsible for the training of judges (Lisbon Network), the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). It also encourages the interest shown by countries in the wider region of South-Eastern Europe to train their judicial officers so that they enrich their judicial knowledge, improve their working methods and generally perform their tasks more effectively.

In the context of its training activities, the School plays a decisive role in developing training courses for judicial officers in the countries of this region by systematically organising scientific meetings and training programs on issues that are of common interest, including European and international current affairs, show diversity, qualitative diversity of acts, and, above all, involve state mechanisms.
